Nothing is worth losing your health or life for love of money or yarn! I am glad your blog made it to Google news, now Ravelry should post it.

Re: Episode 095: Organizing your Knitting and Life with the Knitter’s Planner

Thank you SO MUCH for your message Susan. I read your comment a few days ago and haven't had a minute to respond, but your words have stuck in my head ever since I read them. DO LESS. I've been thinking about ways that we can strip down our holiday excess to just a few special traditions... and then, like you said, we can actually ENJOY the December experience. Thank you so much for sharing!

Re: Episode 095: Organizing your Knitting and Life with the Knitter’s Planner

Thanks for letting me know about the shipping costs to Canada. Yes, it's great that there are several options of planners for knitters now! Martina's planner is popular among our team as well :)

Re: Episode 095: Organizing your Knitting and Life with the Knitter’s Planner

Just had to pop in here and comment about Surviving the Holidays. I'm on the tail end of child-rearing but remember well all the usual unusual activities of holiday card sending, decorating, baking, shopping, gift wrapping, concert rehearsing and attending, party going; not to mention the swim/skate/gymnastics/music lessons activities that don't disappear just because it's December. Heaven help you if there's a birthday or anniversary thrown into the mix. Oh phew! The season we love / hate / Love / well actually, if I'm being honest, hate! / NO LOVE! How do we Business Mom Creative women survive it all?

Here's how: do less. Yup. I said it. Do LESS. It won't matter if you miss a party or two. If you buy the cookies you have to bring to the class Holiday party. If you put only half the decorations on the tree or just the ones that came home from school this year (or none! Lights are pretty!) If you pay the Charity Fundraisers at the mall to wrap your presents. If you order side dishes from your local supermarket and cook only the turkey. You will thank yourself. You will! Because you can focus on the Wonder and the Magic and the Beauty when you outsource tasks and jettison guilt. I promise you, it will not feel less like Christmas or Hanukkah or Solstice if you do fewer things. It will, paradoxically, feel MORE sacred and special.

Of all the traditions you could pass on to your children, Pleasure-Finding will serve them best. Revel in the whole December experience: the joy of it, the bustling around you, people sharing Holiday Greetings, the shift of seasons. Decide what makes your holidays feel most Holiday-like and do only those things. Anything more than 5 traditions is too many! Really! Here's one of my family's: we make paper chains while we watch the movie Elf. Then we hang the chains from our ceiling. Nothing transforms our home to Christmas faster than red and green construction paper zig-zagging above our heads.

Blessed beautiful winter holidays to all who've read this far! May magic find you and fill you with wonder.

Re: Episode 095: Organizing your Knitting and Life with the Knitter’s Planner

That looks like an amazing planner but the shipping to Canada is $35. I cannot bring myself to pay 80% of the purchase price again on shipping. That's just ridiculous. And as they don't sell anything else but accessories for said planner, I would suggest an alternate planner for Canadian knitters would be Martina Behm's Strickmich Planner, which is available from Miss Babs in the US and Martina's Strickmich club in Euros. I'm sure someone in Canada carries it as well. (I see upon googling that you covered it a couple of weeks ago- Miss Babs seems to be the best bet for getting it @ $33.02 Cdn plus shipping and plus you can buy some of her delicious yarn).

Re: SweetGeorgia’s 2019 Holiday Gift Guide

Hand knit gifts are best for loved ones.

Re: Patterns that Make the Grad[ient]

Thanks Tina! First of all, thank you for this very interesting - and beautiful - post.
I discovered beautiful patterns from both designers, but there is just one picture in the post in which the pattern is not identified.
